Exposed Proof
It was some time after shearing had resumed that the police officer stopped Peter again. They said an old cord, tightly tangled within the matted wool and wrapped around his leg as if digging in, had been discovered. The number engraved on it matched perfectly with the management number Peter himself had recorded six years prior. It was evidence far too clear to dismiss as coincidence. So, had this sheep survived after its disappearance, returned here unseen by anyone? Or had it never truly “disappeared” in the first place?
