Waiting room anxiety
In the waiting room, Emily looked at the clock repeatedly. An x-ray examination would normally take about 15 minutes. But more than 30 minutes had already passed. She wondered if something was wrong. The other patients had finished their examinations and left. Emily was the only one left in the waiting room. In the quiet space, she listens to her heartbeat. Then she heard the sound of sirens in the distance.
