Back on the surface, the pod leapt again and again, as if celebrating.
“They’re thanking us,” Sarah said, trembling.
Crew applause echoed around her, but her thoughts were quiet.
“This must happen more often than we ever see.”
The dolphins escorted the Neptune before slipping away toward open water.
