An Inherited Mission
One evening, the director paid Mike a visit. They leaned against the fence of the feedlot and looked at Hope and Bella. Mike, what have you learned this past year? the director asked. Mike thought for a moment before answering. Mike thought for a moment and then answered, “The preciousness of life. I learned the value of life and the importance of accepting differences,” the director nodded. Hope has taught us many things. Hope has truly become hope,” Mike answered quietly. The director smiled.
