Appearance of amnion

At 1:50 a.m., something that looked like a water balloon appeared between Bella’s hind legs. It is amnion. The bag containing the baby comes out, bit by bit. Mike gasps. Bella stands and opens her hind legs a little. Bella’s body is shaking. She is squirming. Then, at 2:15 a.m., the amniotic membrane ruptured with a resounding crash. The baby dropped to the ground from a height of about 2 meters. Mike’s heart nearly stops. But this is what giraffe births are all about.
