Luna was behind a glass partitioned room at the back of the laboratory. Weighing more than 100 kg, she was so large that her cage looked smaller than it was. She no longer looked like a kitten. Dakota approached the glass and called out, “Luna. Luna slowly presses her paw against the glass, her amber eyes catching Dakota’s. Dakota’s paw alone is enough to make Dakota look like a kitten. The paw alone is as big as Dakota’s face. It is a cold goodbye through the glass. Tears fell from Dakota’s eyes.
