Calls to the Institute
The next morning, the family headed to the institute. The white-walled conference room was lined with photos of the ravenous beasts. Dakota’s hands trembled and her mother gently held them. The door opened and Dr. Chambers entered. He has a serious look on his face and in his hand is a thick file and a single photo. Dr. Chambers sits down in his chair and places the file on the table. In the heavy silence, Dakota held her breath and waited for his next words.
